What is iFit?
iFit is a subscription-based workout app whose popularity exploded in 2020 when more of us began working out at home.
With thousands of on-demand classes, this app allows users to participate in a seemingly infinite number of workouts.
iFit creates an incredible HD experience whereby users can run, row, and cycle across global locations.
The sheer volume of workout options will keep the interest of even the biggest cardio-phobes.
We cover the features in more detail later in this guide.
How Can I Use iFit?
As of January 2023, iFit is available for three fitness brands – NordicTrack, ProForm, and FreeMotion.
The app can be downloaded to a tablet or activated on iFit-compatible fitness equipment such as treadmills, spin bikes, fitness mirrors, and rowing machines.
It’s important to note that iFit requires a subscription. For this reason, some people are concerned about whether it is worth it – and rightly so.
Whenever committing to a big purchase, you should consider the total cost and if it’s right for you.
How Much is iFit Membership?
iFit can be bought for an individual user or a family package.
Customers have three options, as follows:
- An annual individual membership – $180. The individual option can only be purchased as an annual subscription.
- A monthly family membership – $39 per month. The family account allows five users and can be paid for monthly.
- An annual family membership – $396. The annual subscription costs 15% less than the monthly option.
These prices are subject to change; however, you can find out more about the current pricing.
How to Cancel iFit Membership
Whether you have an individual or family account, canceling your membership is simple. Head to ifit.com, log in to your account, and select membership plan in settings. This is where you can cancel your subscription.
You may be charged a fee depending on how long you subscribed and how early you’d like to end your commitment.
iFit Features
Automatic Incline & Speed Adjustments
Perhaps the greatest feature is iFit’s ability to adjust speed and incline settings automatically. This makes sessions flow better because you don’t have to manually change anything as you go.
Remember that this feature is only available on cardio-enabled machines; if you download to your phone, the app won’t adjust your machine – you’ll need to manually change the settings.
Global leaderboards & Challenges
Get competitive and compare your efforts with millions of global participants.
Users can select challenges and compete in real-time virtual races against their family, followers (in a private challenge), or the whole iFit community in public challenges.
Works on a Range of Machine Types
iFit provides classes for all kinds of exercise types.
This means you could own a rower, treadmill, and a fitness mirror and use iFit on all of them!
Hundreds of Classes & Instructors
iFit collaborates with over 200 certified instructors, from Olympic athletes to marathon runners and award-winning trainers.
Classes are on demand, so you can pick a time that suits you for workouts such as:
- boxing
- strength training
- cycling
- mountain biking
- yoga
- HIIT (high-intensity interval training)
- meditation
- rowing
- + many more

NordicTrack RW900 Rowing Machine
The NordicTrack RW900 is the second highest-rated rowing machine in 2022, second only to the Concept2 RowErg.
While the Savvy Score is only 8.2/10, this is mainly due to the price. We feel it’s too expensive.
Nevertheless, it’s still a good option if you want a high-quality machine and don’t mind spending extra for the large 22″ monitor and iFit compatibility.
NordicTrack Vault Fitness Mirror
Fitness mirrors are an interactive workout device that took the world by storm during lockdown.
NordicTrack’s offering is the NordicTrack Vault.
Available on its own (NordicTrack Vault Standalone) or with weights, kettlebells, and resistance bands (the NordicTrack Vault Complete), this is the highest-rated fitness mirror, with a Savvy Score of 9.9/10.
