Sole TT8 Review
In this guide, we have included everything you need to know about the Sole TT8 Treadmill. We gathered customer comments, tested it ourselves, link out to the manual, and also include a price comparison table so you can choose which retailer to buy from.
However, if you don’t have the time to read the entire guide, you can always check out our quick verdict below!
Quick Verdict
The Sole TT8 meets or beats expectations on the features front, however, customers scored this machine lower than other treadmills in the $2,000 – $2,999 price bracket. We love the warranty, the decline feature is awesome, and the other features make this a nice machine. However, the manual programs are not as good as other treadmills.
This means that this particular Sole treadmill did not make it into our Best Treadmill For Home article.
Our recommendation is the NordicTrack 2450. It scored 9.3 vs 9. While most of the features are the same, it does have slightly less of a decline (-3% vs -6%) and a lower maximum user weight (300 lbs vs 400 lbs) however, customer reviews were far better, and the iFit option is also a huge bonus.

About the Sole TT8 Light Commercial Treadmill
The Sole TT8 Light Commercial Treadmill is the most advanced and robust of the Sole Treadmill range.
Built with high-grade components and materials, this treadmill is suitable for both home and light commercial use. The material and build quality is also backed up with industry-leading warranties. For home use, you’ll get a lifetime frame, deck and motor warranty and even in a light-commercial setting, you receive 5 years on the motor and deck.
This level of warranty provides sound peace of mind, knowing that if anything goes wrong, you’re covered.
While testing, we noticed some issues with the custom programs. For example, if you change the speed or incline setting during a custom workout, the entire routine adjusts by that amount – it does not resolve to the original programmed settings.
How Does the Sole Treadmill TT8 Compare to Other Treadmills?
At Fitness Savvy we combine our own expert analysis with customer ratings to get a Savvy Score.
During our testing and analysis, we examine comparable statistics such as running surface, maximum user weight, top speed, incline percentage and motor power. More expensive treadmills ought to have better features and vice-versa.
In the $2,000 – $2,999 price bracket, here are the features we expect to see, and how the Sole T88 stacks up:
Motor Power:
The motor should be 3 – 5 CHP. At 4, the TT8 is in the middle of the range. The price is also middle of the price range, so as you will notice, this is exactly where it should be.
Top Speed:
You should find a range of 10 – 14 mph (16 – 24 km/h) in this price bracket. The Sole TT8 comes in the middle of the range. However, this should be more than adequate for both beginner and experienced runners alike.
Incline Percentage:
The range of incline for this budget is 15 – 40%. Incline trainers such as the NordicTrack X22i are at the top end of this scale with 40% incline, but as a standard treadmill, the TT8 exceeds this with 21% (15% incline and 6% decline).
Most treadmills in this price bracket do not have a decline function, so we were pleased that the TT8 allows more workout variety for users. Check out the X22i below if you’re in the market for a treadmill with more incline options.

Maximum User Weight:
This stat might not seem important for many of us, however, a higher maximum user weight tends to suggest a more powerful motor. With a lifetime motor warranty and a maximum user weight of 400 lbs, the TT8 exceeds what you should expect at this price break.
Running Area:
Taller runners who wish to run at high speeds require a considerable-sized running deck. For $2,000 – $2,999 you should expect a running deck of at least 20″ x 55″. At 22″ x 60″, the TT8 comes in at the top of the range.
After combining the customer review score with our rating, the TT8 achieved a Savvy Score of 9 out of 10. This means the treadmill is in the excellent category but not the best for the price.
Sole TT8 vs F85
A common comparison is made between the Sole T85 and the TT8. Below we have highlighted the main differences. You can also read the in-depth guide for the Sole F85 Treadmill and compare prices.
- Price: at $2,499 (time of writing) vs. $1,999, the TT8 is the more expensive of the two
- Motor Power:Â Both motors run at 4 HP. That said, the TT8 states CHP (continuous horsepower) while the F85 does not. This means that the F85 likely runs at a peak of 4 HP
- Incline: Both feature a 15% incline, however, the TT8 has the -6% decline option too
- Top Speed: Both machines have a top speed of 12 mph
- Max. User Weight: Both machines have the same maximum user weight of 400 lbs
- Running Deck:Â both machines have the same sized running deck
- Warranty: both treadmills have the same home use warranty, however, the TT8 warranty covers light commercial use
- Display:Â both feature a 10.1″ touchscreen console
As you can see, the specs are nearly identical for both machines. The extra $500 gets you -6% decline and a light-commercial warranty. Unless you’re set on a decline option or need the commercial warranty, we recommend saving the extra money and opting for the Sole F85.

Sole TT8 vs F80
Another comparison we see is between the Sole T80 and TT8. Again, we’ve highlighted the differences and you can read the full review for the Sole F80 Treadmill and compare prices.
- Price:Â As previously mentioned, the TT8 is $2,499 – compared with $1,599 for the F80
- Motor Power:Â The TT8 is more powerful at 4 CHP vs 3.5 HP
- Incline: Both feature a 15% incline, however, the TT8 has the -6% decline option too
- Top Speed: Both machines have a top speed of 12 mph
- Max. User Weight:Â The TT8 allows for a higher maximum user weight of 400 lbs vs 375 lbs
- Running Deck: both machines have the same sized running deck
- Warranty: both treadmills have the same home use warranty, however, the TT8 warranty covers light commercial use
- Display: The TT8 includes a larger display which is also a touchscreen. The F80, in comparison, has just an LCD screen
The only reason to opt for the TT8 over the F80 is that you weigh over 375 lbs and/or want a decline option and touchscreen monitor. Otherwise, the F80 will do you just fine. Oh, and the F80 folds away as well
