NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Review

The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is one of the most popular running machines in 2023.

We’ve delved deep to bring you everything there is to know about this treadmill – and compared it with the most popular alternatives.

Quick Verdict

We’ll cut right to the chase: there are better treadmills for the price.

When we review treadmills, we collate every customer rating we can find and combine this with our expert analysis.

Our analysis considers the motor size, running deck, warranties, features, top speed – and all that stuff – and provides a score based on the price bracket.

By combining the customer rating with our own, we end up with a Savvy Score. The NordicTrack 1750 scored 8.6 out of 10 – way off the mark to be considered one of the best treadmills.

Additionally, the price has recently increased from $1,999 to $2,299. The 1750 didn’t even pack the features one should expect for under $2,000, and now it falls in a higher price bracket.

If you have $2,299 to spend, we’d recommend the ProForm Pro 9000, which scored 9.1 vs. 8.6. Check out the specs and best prices below.

Why You Should Trust Fitness Savvy

At Fitness Savvy, not only do we review the best treadmills – we include price comparison tables so you can get the best price on the best treadmill.

Many review sites link to a preferred retailer to earn as much commission as possible. Most don’t even show you the price.

Yes, we earn a commission if you click through our website and purchase a treadmill; however, we’re not fussed about where you get it from – we want you to get the best price.

We also regularly update this page to reflect changes in price, stats, features, and more.

What Customers Think of the NordicTrack 1750

We’ve looked online to see what people say about the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Treadmill. Out of 119 online user reviews, this running machine scored 4.0 out of 5. Users were pleased with the ease of assembly, sturdiness, and quietness.

PROS:
  • Perfect for those with joint problems or other medical issues which require low-impact exercise.
  • A great quality product that easily folds away for storage, making it the ideal choice for those with less space to work with.
  • Buyers liked the sturdiness and quiet operation.
  • Powered by a strong, powerful 3.75 CHP motor. CHP stands for continuous horsepower. This means that the motor always operates at this level. Many treadmills mention HP (horsepower). For example, it might state that it is 4.0 HP but not tell you that this is the maximum output and will not always run at this power. These motors are more likely to break down and need repairing or replacing sooner.
  • Features a large running deck that will suit taller runners without a problem.
  • Customers said that setting the machine up is easy.

CONS:
  • A few reviewers recommend having the machine professionally assembled. Although it is possible to do it yourself, those who opted for the professional assembly thought that the price charged (usually around $75) was worth it.
  • iFit features might not be good for some people, so consider these features if iFit is a reason for purchasing.
  • The belt seems to slip, according to one user.
  • Another user had the motor replaced twice in 5 years but used it regularly (over 7,500 miles).

About the NordicTrack 1750

When it comes to running machines, NordicTrack treadmills have quite a reputation. Countless reviews of various models mention how great these cardio machines are. Of these treadmills, one of the most popular is the NordicTrack 1750 treadmill.

What’s New in 2022

The NordicTrack 1750 has received a face-lift for 2022. It’s had a full medical and total overhaul. Here’s what’s new:

Larger Display

The new 14″ monitor is larger than its predecessors (which were 10″ and 7″)

Faster Incline and Decline Response

The responsiveness in previous models was criticized. NordicTrack listened and has made improvements. The motor is also quieter, as some customers complained of how noisy the 1750 used to get when changing positions.

Improved Speakers

The sound systems on most treadmills normally receive a well-earned bashing. The new system is much better.

New ActivePulse Feature

ActivePulse is a new additional feature. The machine adjusts the speed and incline to keep you within the optimal heart rate zone.

Integrated Tablet Support

With the 1750 Commercial Treadmill, you can attach your tablet above the display screen. This means you can easily enjoy your music or movies while working out and allows access to the console functions during your training session.

The new design is adjustable, so you can alter the tablet to the perfect viewing angle. Please note that this treadmill does not include a tablet.

At the end of the day, this feature is not unlike most other treadmills in this price range and should be expected for the price.

Flex Cushioning

In 2013, NordicTrack hit the news with the release of its ground-breaking Flex Cushioning system. As “flex” suggests, you can alter the running deck settings to suit your needs. Manufactured with four coil springs (mounted over dubber dampeners), the softest setting reduces joint impact.

When the Flex Cushioning setting is on, you will experience the soft running deck. When off, the deck becomes firm. The idea was to design a treadmill where the user could mimic a real-world off-road feel.

Large Running Surface

If you’re a taller runner, you should certainly consider the size of the running belt. One of the main drawbacks of cheaper treadmills is the size of the running area. Sometimes a smaller surface is great – for example, when you have less space in your home or gym to work with. However, you should opt for a larger surface when you have more room.

The running area on the NordicTrack 1750 is  22″ x 60″ (55 x  152 cm). The 2-ply is designed to reduce friction and noise for a quieter workout and higher durability.

How Does The NordicTrack 1750 Compare to Other Treadmills?

One of the main things you should consider when buying a treadmill is how it compares to others in the same price range.

We’ve taken the time to compare the NordicTrack 1750 features against the most popular and highest-rated alternatives.

Below is a table showing the top 5 treadmills in the $1,000 – $1,999 price bracket. As you’ll notice, the NordicTrack 1750 isn’t even on the list. The score of 8.6 was not good enough.

And to add insult to injury – the price of the 1750 has recently increased, so it no longer falls in the sub-$2,000 category!

In all fairness, we expect more from a treadmill in this price range – especially regarding the customer review score.

Next is a table comparing the most important treadmill features. We’ve compared the NordicTrack 1750 to three of the most popular alternatives – the Sole F80, NordicTrack 2450, and Proform Pro 9000. We’ve also prepared a written comparison, too.

Sole F80 vs NordicTrack 2450, ProForm Pro 9000 & NordicTrack 1750

NordicTrack 1750 vs. Sole F80

When choosing the right treadmill for your workout needs, a common comparison is the Sole F80 vs. NordicTrack 1750. Below you’ll find the key features compared – this should hopefully help you decide the best treadmill for your needs and budget.

  • Overall User Rating: The Sole F80 scored much higher, receiving a solid 4.6 out of 5 compared with 4 out of 5 for the NordicTrack 1750.
  • Running Deck: both decks are the same size at 22″ x 60″
  • Motor: the motor on the Sole F80 is smaller (3.5 vs. 3.75 CHP).
  • Incline: both treadmills feature a 15% incline. However, the NordicTrack 1750 also features a 3% decline.
  • Screen size: the newest version of the NordicTrack 1750 (2022 model) comes with a 14″ monitor. Earlier versions have smaller monitors (11″). This means the 1750 comes out on top compared to the 9″ display on the Sole F80. It’s also worth noting that the interactivity options on the NordicTrack are superior; however, these additional perks require an iFit subscription which is an additional cost.
  • Maximum user weight: One drawback of nearly all NordicTrack and ProForm fitness products is the low maximum user weight compared with other brands. For example, the NordicTrack 1750 maximum user weight of 300 lbs (135 kg) is much lower than the Sole F80’s 375 lbs (170 kg). For this reason, the 1750 might be a non-starter for some people.
  • Warranty: with a lifetime frame, motor, and deck warranty, the Sole F80 is superior to NordicTrack’s 10-year motor warranty.
  • Price: with a list price of $1,699 vs. $2,299, the Sole F80 is the cheaper treadmill.

In conclusion, based on user reviews, features, and price, the Sole F80 is the better option.

NordicTrack champion their iFit subscription and screen size. However, the newer Sole F80 includes a tablet holder, and users can now subscribe to an iFit alternative – Studio.

At the time of writing, the Studio annual membership is $199.99 for an individual subscription vs. $180 for iFit.

Doing the math, even if you spent $580 on a tablet and the extra $20 on an annual subscription – you’d still end up paying the same price as the NordicTrack 1750.

Based on the numbers, the extra $600 for NordicTrack 1750 is not justified. A few hundred dollars, maybe – if you require a decline feature – otherwise, we struggle to understand how they reached this retail price.

NordicTrack 1750 vs. 2450

Another popular comparison we discovered is for the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 vs. 2450. These commercial treadmills are virtually identical, the primary difference being the screen size. The 2022 version of the NordicTrack 2450 includes a 22″ monitor compared to the 14″ monitor on the most recent (2022) 1750 iteration.

  • Overall User Rating: customers scored the 2450 far more favorably, with a score of 4.6 out of 5 vs. 4 out of 5.
  • Running Deck: both decks are the same size at 22″ x 60″.
  • Motor: At 4.0, the NordicTrack 2450 has the more powerful motor when compared with the 3.75 HP of the NordicTrack 1750.
  • Incline: both machines feature a 15% incline and a 3% decline.
  • Screen size: the newest version of the NordicTrack 2450 comes with a 22″ monitor – this is the main reason for the price difference, so far as we can tell.
  • Maximum user weight: both treadmills have a maximum user weight of 300 lbs (170 kg).
  • Warranty: both come with the standard NordicTrack warranty described in the previous comparison.
  • Price: with a list price of $2,499 vs. $2,299, the NordicTrack 1750 is the cheaper treadmill.

As we’ve said, our Savvy Score combines a specs-based rating with customer reviews to get an overall score.

With such a large difference in the customer review score, the NordicTrack 2450 comes out on top with a final Savvy Score of 9.3 vs. 8.6.

We believe the extra $600 is hard to justify – yes, it has a slightly more powerful motor and larger screen, but our recommendation is still the ProForm Pro 9000 if the large screen is what you’re after.

NordicTrack 1750 vs. ProForm 9000

Finally, we bring you the ProForm 9000 vs. NordicTrack 1750 comparison. At the start of this article, we highlighted the ProForm Pro 9000 as the best option in this price range. While the specs are similar, the Pro 9000 received awesome customer feedback.

  • Overall User Rating: customers gave the Pro 9000 a higher score of 4.6 out of 5 vs. 4 out of 5.
  • Running Deck: the Pro 9000 has a smaller deck size at 20″ x 60″ vs. 22″ x 60″.
  • Motor: At 3.6, the ProForm 9000 has a weaker motor when compared with the 3.75 HP of the NordicTrack 1750.
  • Incline: both machines feature a 15% incline and a 3% decline.
  • Screen size: the newest version of the ProForm Pro 9000 comes with a 22″ monitor.
  • Maximum user weight: both treadmills have a maximum user weight of 300 lbs (170 kg).
  • Warranty: both come with the standard NordicTrack/ProForm warranty described in the previous comparison.
  • Price: the ProForm Pro 9000 and NordicTrack 1750 are each priced at $2,299.

We give more weight to customer feedback in our Savvy Score, and the undeniably better reviews for the Pro 9000 sway our rating. Check out the specs and compare deals for the ProForm Pro 9000 below.

NordicTrack 1750 vs. Sole F85

Finally, we deliver the comparison between the Sole F85 and NordicTrack 1750. We’ve seen the NordicTrack 1750 top many best treadmill lists, and we don’t feel this is justified. Check out the comparison below to see what we have to say.

  • Overall User Rating: At 4.3 out of 5, the Sole F85 received better customer scores. The NordicTrack 1750, in comparison, only received 4 out of 5.
  • Running Deck: All the running decks we’ve compared here are the same size.
  • Motor: At 4 CHP vs. 3.5 CHP, the Sole F85 wins this battle.
  • Incline: Both treadmills allow a 15% incline setting; however, the NordicTrack 1750 – like the 2450 – includes a decline setting.
  • Screen size: The NordicTrack wins the screen size showdown with 14″ on the new version vs. 10.1″.
  • Warranty: As previously mentioned, Sole Fitness wins on warranty with lifetime on frame, motor, and deck vs. NordicTrack’s 10-year frame and 2-year parts cover.
  • Maximum user weight: The Sole F85 has the highest maximum user weight of all treadmills we’ve reviewed at 400 lbs (182 kg) vs. 300 lbs (135 kg).
  • Price: At the time of writing, the NordicTrack 1750 is slightly more expensive at $2,299 vs. $2,099.

We have a clear winner here – with a Savvy Score of 9.2 vs. 8.6, the Sole F85 takes the gold. It received better customer reviews, has a higher maximum user weight, has a superior warranty, and packs a more powerful motor.

The NordicTrack 1750 does have a larger screen and a decline option; however, the less favorable customer reviews, sub-par warranty, and weaker motor mean that the NordicTrack 1750 comes in second this time around.

Video Reviews

My Experience with the NordicTrack 1750 Commercial Treadmill

We managed to get our hands on the 2022 version of the NordicTrack 1750.

As with nearly all NordicTrack treadmills we’ve tested, the setup and installation were straightforward. If you’re a dab hand at building stuff, you might get this done independently, but it could take several hours. With two people, you should be done in between one and two hours. The other option is professional installation – which will be completed in under an hour. This is a great option if you’re not confident doing it yourself or don’t have someone to help you.

We’ve also included the YouTube assembly video, which we found helpful during setup.

Once set up, you will want to switch on the display monitor. Don’t be fooled into entering your card details for an iFit subscription. With that said, we do believe iFit to be worth the money. At Fitness Savvy, we’re much more into weightlifting than cardio and understand others might find cardio workouts boring. iFit is a must for people like us. The ability to run anywhere in the world and choose a different daily workout alleviates boredom.

During testing, we found the treadmill transitions smoothly between incline and decline settings, and a 12 mph top speed is plenty. The motor is relatively quiet, and we found the fans to be more powerful than those on other similarly priced models.

The speakers (as with the fans) are better quality than you’d expect at the price point; however, nothing beats listening to music on earphones or a decent sound system.

The machine folds away easily, but we still believe the ProForm 9000 to be a better option for this price range.
